The planned expansion will, Insha Allah, allow
up to 2,000 men, women, and children to pray at a time in a facility
of almost 30,000 sq.ft. i.e. twice its current size. Key features
of the expanded building are:
LADIES – FIRST FLOOR: Separate Entry, New
Larger Rest Room, Ablution Room, Shoe Racks Room, Break Room (with
Vending Machines, Refrigerator, Microwave oven, Coffee Pot, Sink,
Tables & Chairs), Drinking water Fountains. - SECOND FLOOR: Rest/Ablution
Room, Drinking water Fountains
MEN – FIRST FLOOR: New Larger Rest Room, Ablution
Room, Shoe Racks Room, Break Room (with Vending Machines, Refrigerator,
Microwave oven, Coffee Pot, Sink, Tables & Chairs), Drinking water
Fountains. - SECOND FLOOR: Rest/Ablution Room, Drinking water Fountains
FUNERAL PREP. UNIT: Cooler with Two Shelves, Body
Wash Area, Rest Room, Shower.(We will be renting a Hearst as and when
needed, and have a licensed Funeral Director supervise the facility
as required by law. The expenses for operating this Unit will be covered
by a usage fee recovered from each family that uses this facility.
This would still reduce the family’s funeral preparation cost
by at least 1/3rd, and provide a more dignified way for us to prepare
the body for burial. Most importantly, it will enable the family of
the deceased to stay close to the body and offer prayers (overnight
if necessary), until the burial. OTHER ADDITIONS: Book Store, Conference
Room, Office for Associate Imam, Larger Office with Private Rest Room
for Imam, Kids Room, Storage Room Inside, Storage Room Outside, Janitor
Closet First Floor, Janitor Closet Second Floor.
