| The
Board of Directors has established Rules
of Conduct that everyone using Islamic
Center facilities is expected to observe
in order to ensure a smooth operation.
The guidelines below specifically
address Rules of Conduct governing Sunday
School. It is the responsibility of the
Teachers and Assistants to ensure that
the following Rules of Conduct are observed
by everyone using the Islamic Center facilities
during the hours Sunday School is in session.
1. The Islamic Center
is also utilized during the week by Al-Furqan
Academy (AFA). It
is important that facilities that are
shared be put in order after use. AFA
should not have to re-arrange the classrooms
due to Sunday School oversight, not should
the Sunday School have to re-arrange the
classrooms due to AFA oversight.
2. Everyone age 10 and
above using the center must be dressed
modestly. Islam gives us the following
guidance in regard to “AURAH”
(parts of the body that must be covered
as a minimum):
Men 1- Wear loose fitting,
non see-through clothes that cover the
body down to
below the knees, without provocative logos.
Women 1- Wear loose fitting,
not see-through clothes, with long sleeves,
covering
the body down to the ankles.
2- Properly cover the
hair with a head scarf.
3. Everyone is expected
to remove his/her shoes before entering
the prayer hall. Shoes should be placed
on Shoe Racks or Aligned neatly against
the wall. Non-compliance could lead to
shoes being placed in a different location.
4. The following are strictly
prohibited anywhere on the Islamic Center
premises:
A. Smoking
B. Playing of music except when used for
educational purposes sanctioned by the
Imam of the Islamic Center
C. Leaving personal property for storage
5. Everyone is expected
to take better care of the Center’s
facilities than they would of their homes.
Therefore, anyone causing any type of
damage to the Center’s facilities
assumes full responsibility, and is expected
to have it fixed.
6. Parents are fully responsible
for the behavior and actions of their
children while they are at the Center.
‘Your child messes it up, you clean
it.’ Running, shouting and playing
at the Center’s premises must be
controlled by the parents.
7. Anyone noticing another
person (adult or child) that is about
to or may be causing damage to the Center’s
facilities is expected to stop such action
or seek the help of others to stop it.
8. All balls, games and
toys not sanctioned by the Imam should
not be brought to the Islamic Center.
9. Any student wishing
to use the telephone, must get the permission
of the Sunday School Administrator or
their Teacher.
By my signature below, I have read, understood
and concur with the above Rules of Conduct
for Sunday School. I also understand that
any established pattern of not adhering
to these Rules could lead to suspension
or expulsion from the Sunday School Program.
